WOODSIDE, George HaroldJune 4, 1917 - November 9, 2013Following a heart attack on the morning of November 9, 2013, George was taken to the Wetaskiwin Hospital from the Sunrise Retirement Village, where he has resided with his wife Martha. That same afternoon, having said his goodbyes to Martha, he departed for his much anticipated journey to his heavenly home.Upon his arrival, he would have been reunited with his father Coburn (1973), mother Louise (1983), wife Catherine (1984) and brother Scott (2005). He will be remembered by his second wife Martha, daugher Janet (Wesley) Long and their three sons: Wesley (Donna) Long, Ian (Jiyoung) Long, Murray (Kim) Long, stepdaughter Shirley (Larry) Taylor and their children Scot and Tracey as well as many great-grandchildren.George's working years were primarily in Edmonton where he owned Woodside Automotive, retiring and selling his business in 1973. These last 25 years he has resided in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.A Celebration of his Life is being held at the Wetaskiwin Funeral Home, 4620 - 64 Avenue, Wetaskiwin on November 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a time of refreshments at the Sunrise Village Retirement Home.Wetaskiwin Funeral Home & Crematorium entrusted with arrangements.
