Funeral service for George Ray Edwards, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Halifax Hospital, Port Orange, will be 3 p.m. Saturday, February 3, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. The viewing will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., two hours prior to the service. The interment will be in Kingsport, Tenn. Mr. Edwards was born in Union County, S.C., and moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1993 from Fairfax County, Va. A veteran, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as a television repair technician for George Shirlington Radio & Television Repair after 40 years. He loved electronics. Mr. Edwards is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Twila; two sons, Kenneth R., Fairfax Co., Va., and Mike, Louisville, Ky.; one daughter, Patricia Lack, Fairfax Co., Va.; two sisters, Sadie Howell, Union Co., S.C., and Peggy McNiece, Middleburg, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
