MORRISON, George Russell July 2, 1926 - January 3, 2011 We just lost a wonderful man! It is with deep sadness that the family and friends of George Morrison announce he passed away at the Agape Hospice after a long brave struggle with failing health. George was born in Pym, Saskatchewan in 1926, to Barbara and Robert Morrison. He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. On November 28, 1945 he married the love of his life, Ollie Vickers in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan. In 1950 George and Ollie moved to Calgary where they raised their three daughters. George leaves behind to celebrate his life, his wife of sixty-five years Ollie, daughters Gayle Manz, Bev (Don) Ramsey, Debbie Morrison, grandchildren Kristie, Tracy, Troy, Pamela and great-grandchildren, Ashlin, Hayley, MacEwan, Hayden and Brooklyn. He is survived by his brother Kenn as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many loyal friends. George was predeceased by his parents, brother Ron, sister Vi and granddaughter Lisa. George worked hard to provide for his family at Weston Bakeries for thirty-seven years. He was a very kind, gentle, sweet and humorous man who never complained and always looked out for others. George was a positive example for all who knew and loved him. The family wishes to thank all staff at the Agape Hospice for the outstanding care and love that they provided to George and our family during his lengthy stay and for this we are very grateful!! A Memorial Service to Celebrate George's Life will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if you wish please make donations directly to The Salvation Army Agape Manor Hospice, 1302 - 8 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1B8.
