George Anthony Keefe, 83, Cypress Grove Lane, Ormond Beach, a retired truck driver, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today (Saturday, May 20) at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach. Born November 29, 1922, in Jersey City, N.J., Mr. Keefe, a Marine veteran of World War II, moved here in 1987 from Aberdeen, N.J. He was a member of the Military Order of Devil Dogs, the American Legion Post 120, The Eagles Post 3800 and the Elks 2193, and he was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Marine Corp League. Survivors include his wife, Eileen; two sons, George, Manahawkin, N.J., and Brian, Charlottesville, Va.; two daughters, Ellen Mackerowski, Clearwater, and Kerry Keefe, Ormond Beach; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Mackerowski, Crystle Guzzetta, Brian, Joseph, Rebecca, Brieanne, Cassidy and Katherine Mary Keefe; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle Robert Guzzetta and Faith Keefe.
