COOK - George F. Sr., 80, of Cape Coral, FL, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008. He was born May 8, 1928 in Glens Falls, NY to the late George and Loretta Buckley Cook. Beloved husband of Marian D. Cook, of 57 years. Father of George F. Cook Jr., Thomas C. Cook, and M. Deirdre Cook. Grandfather of Christopher, Jennifer and Jacqueline. Cousin of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Buckley. George received a B.S. in Journalism from Fordham University and attended St. Mary's Academy, Glens Falls, NY. He served honorably during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain and was later stationed at Write Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH. He was a resident of Glen Cove, NY and Jamesport, NY for over 30 year while employed at AIL and Standard Kollsman. He was active in the Manhasset Bay Power Squadron and St. Patrick's R.C. Church in Glen Cove. George retired in 1988 from Eaton Corporation in Cleveland, OH to Cape Coral, FL. He was active in St. Andrew R.C. Church. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 11:30am at St. Andrew Church. Burial will take place in Glens Falls, NY at a later date.
