George F. Goodwin ROSENDALEGeorge F. Goodwin, 72, of Rosendale, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 at his home. He was born in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, Sept. 1, 1941. George was a son of the late George F. and Ruth Collins Goodwin. A 48 year resident of Rosendale, George had been employed as a Plant Mechanic for Central Hudson Gas & Electric at the Danskamer plant until his retirement. He was an active member of St. Peter’s Parish in Rosendale. George enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed a fine glass of wine. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda A. Goodwin, whom he married Sept. 5, 1964 and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year, a daughter Ashlee Grennan, her husband Brian, and their children Mickey and Meaghan, of Saylorsburg, Pa., four sons, Garrett Goodwin, his wife Karen, and their children Emily and Sarah of West Nyack, Glenn Goodwin, his wife Erin, and their children Connor and Clare, of Staten Island, Gregory Goodwin, his wife Suzanne, and their children, Abbie and Katie, of West Park, and George Goodwin, his wife Cristina, and their children, George and Alexandra, of Saugerties. Also survived by a brother, Michael Anderson of N.J., two sisters, Ellen Horan of Rosendale and Elsie Harms of Woodhaven, several nieces, nephews, and many loving and caring friends. A sister, Alice Maxim, died previously. His funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. Monday from the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, Rosendale. Rev. Edmund Burke will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 2 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Bloomington Fire Co., P.O. Box 111, Bloomington, N.Y. 12411.
