He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty; his daughter, Karen; his stepsons, Michael and Mark; 8 grandchildren, Robert, Nicholas, David, Sarah Lyn, Taylor, Greg, Reilly, and William; his sister Betty; his brothers Bobby and Jeff.Gene grew up in northern Florida and moved to Roswell, GA soon after his marriage to Betty. He enjoyed a successful career as a construction superintendent for more than 25 years and his commercial buildings are still standing in and around the Atlanta area. He is a veteran of the US Army. A loving and dedicated father, Gene attended Summit Baptist Church in Acworth, GA. Funeral services will be held at Abbey Funeral Chapel in Tallahassee, FL on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2 pm.
