Gary Anthony Hall May 16, 2011 Gary Anthony Hall, 67, of New York City and Fayetteville, departed this life Monday in New York City. He was presently employed as chief counsel for the NBA Players Association. He was formerly United States Attorney for Northern California and prior to that assistant district attorney for Alameda County, also in California. Upon returning to Syracuse, Gary joined Smith Sovik Law Firm and later was partner in Blitman and King, specializing in labor and employment law. He spent his early years in Canastota and graduated from Canastota High School in 1962. Gary received his B.A. from Syracuse University in 1966, M.A. from the University of Connecticut in 1968 and J.D. from the George Washington University National Law Center in 1974. He was a United States Marine veteran, serving as a commissioned officer from 1968 to 1971, during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mable L. Fennell. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his sisters, Jacqueline Harrell (James V.) and Tina Harrell; his brother, Brian K. Hall Sr. and his fiancee, Darlene Graham, all of Syracuse; nieces, Jasmine Harrell, Jayvana Rucker and Brianna Hall; nephews, Brandon, Brian Jr. and Brison Hall; great-nieces and -nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Calling hours will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, with funeral services immediately following at Abundant Life Christian Center, 7000 All Nations Blvd., East Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery, Dewitt, NY.
