WINTHROP -- Gwendolyn G. White, 82, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at her home. She was born in Seattle, Wash., on March 20, 1930, a daughter of the late E. Crawford and Lillian (Young) Goodwin.Mrs. White was a graduate of Garfield High School in Washington state, and attended the University of Washington, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.She had been employed by St. Paul Savings and Loan in the Chicago, Ill., area, as well as being a homemaker for her family.Mrs. White was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Augusta, where she served on the Altar Guild and was on the Board of Directors for St. Mark's Home for Women.She was predeceased by her sister, Lillian Cereghino.Mrs. White is survived by her husband of 60 years, Peter C. White, of Winthrop; two sons, Dr. Peter C. White Jr., of Cleveland, Ohio, and the Rev. Edward G. White, of Renton, Wash.; a daughter, Katherin R. Wilbur, of Bellingham, Wash.; as well as five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.There will be no public visiting hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Summer Street, Augusta.
