VAN HORN George K., 84 years old of Township of Washington, NJ passed away quietly at home on August 24, 2012. Born in Oradell, NJ, he lived in Hillsdale, NJ before moving to Township of Washington. Mr. Van Horn was a WWII Navy veteran and a past usher at Christ Lutheran Church, Woodcliff Lake, NJ. He retired in 1990 after working for 30 + years for Bergen County as an electrical and general foreman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol (Berndt) Van Horn; his sons, Jeff Van Horn and his wife Linda and Doug Van Horn and his wife Sandy; and his grandchildren, Ted, Alex, Thomas and Lauren. George was predeceased by his sister, Kay Van Horn. Visiting hours are Monday 7-9 PM at the Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ www.becker-funeralhome. Interment will be private.
