G. Peter Keyes of Binghamton Peter Keyes, 73, of Binghamton went be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. He was born in Brooklyn, NY. Attended Chaminade High School, the University of Notre Dame and Columbia University Law School. He practiced law at Levene, Gouldin and Thompson for 43 years. Pete loved music, the theater, movies and history. He enjoyed running as a spectator and as a participant, completing in numerous races and marathons before retiring from competitive racing. He was a devoted husband and father who doted on his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Evelyn Keyes. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; his children, Liz and Chuck Ehrman, Sheila Keyes and Kelly Houlgate, Brendan and Jennifer Keyes; his grandchildren, Clara, Patrick, and Adele Ehrman; Liam, Aidan and Fiona Houlgate; Brady and McKenna Keyes; his brother, Paul Keyes and his wife, Sally; his sister, Barbara Stanley and her husband, Ken; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his special friends, Frank and Connie Cardullo and family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. James Church, Johnson City on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. A luncheon will be held in the church hall immediately following the mass. The family will receive friends at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City on Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy, in memory of Peter, may be made to AVRE, 174 Court St., Binghamton, NY 13901 or to St. James Church Memorial Fund, 147 Main St., Johnson City, NY 13790.
