Ms. Freddie Nell Jackson, age 85, of Gillsville passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at her residence following a brief illness.Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Surrett will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, and Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015. from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.Ms. Jackson was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Cumming, Ga., to the late Jack Slaton and Myrtie Bennett Slaton. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Freddie was preceded in death by her parents; 14 of her brothers and sisters; and her son, David Anthony Jackson.Ms. Jackson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Bobbie Jackson of Gillsville; granddaughters and their husbands, Amy and Lewis Grace of Winder and Amber and Sean McNaughton of Suwanee; grandson and his wife, Bradley and Wendy Jackson of Gainesville; six great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, George and Coleen Slaton of Dawsonville.Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504, is in charge of arrangements.Send online condolences to www.memorialparkfuneralhomes.com.
