HENDERSON, Freda Gertrude(nee Hicks)Freda Gertrude Henderson died peacefully on October 9th with family by her side. Freda was predeceased in 2009 by her husband of 58 years, Douglas Henderson. Doug and Freda were sadly predeceased by their loving daughter Janet (Peter Sweetman). Mom will be greatly missed by daughters Patricia, Christine (George McCagherty) and Barb (David Borle). The grandchildren Kayla and Megan McCagherty, Janine and Jessica Sweetman, Brienne (Joel Tappey), John, Steven, Elyse, Ethan and Conner Borle will miss her loving presence and wonderful cooking. All the family, including her great granddaughter Aubrie, gathered recently to celebrate Freda's 85th birthday.Freda is survived by her two brothers Bill (Betty) Hicks and Roy Hicks. She also leaves behind many good friends including classmates from her 1948 nursing class.Special thanks to friends Marilyn, Betty and Chris for your support and help and to the wonderful Misericordia staff (7W and 7E). The family wishes to extend an invitation to join us in a memorial celebration for Freda on Sunday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Whitemud Horizon Village Amenities Building at 245 Oeming Road.If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of their choice.
