->EMBDEN -- Francis L. Raymond, 79, died Feb. 2, 2008, at his home in Embden with his family by his side.He was born March 18, 1928, in Winthrop, the son of Ronello and Ida (Bagley) Raymond. He married Florence Trafton on Jan. 22, 1951; she passed away on Feb. 18, 1988. Francis worked at Beck's Roofing Company for many years. He loved hunting, fishing and driving his red truck to visit his family and friends. He also collected scrap metal to resell and did this for many years. Francis remarried Leona George Jan. 3, 1989; she passed away on April 6, 2005. Francis will be sadly missed by all his family, including nephew Dale Raymond and grandson Junior Raymond, who was his caregiver for many months.He is survived by two sons, Francis Raymond and his wife, Barbara, of Skowhegan, and Donald Raymond and his wife, Loretta, of Embden; a daughter, Ida Landry and her husband, Roland, of Fairfield; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Francis was predeceased by four brothers, Leighton Raymond, formerly of Connecticut, Colbin Raymond, formerly of Clinton, Robert Raymond, formerly of Fairfield, and Elwood Raymond, formerly of Massachusetts; and a sister, Ruth Zinkovitch of Fairfield.The family would like to give a special thanks to Arthur, Wayne and Beth for always being there for our Dad.A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
