Francis J. McGowan QUINCY Francis J. Frank McGowan, age 83, passed away peacefully at Quincy Medical Center on Thursday, February 19 after a short illness. Born and raised in Charlestown, he had resided in Quincy for the past 5 years. Mr. McGowan was a retired heavy equipment mechanic of the Comm. of MA Highway Dept., Wellesley. A decorated WW II Army veteran, he was a Purple Heart & Silver Star recipient and a late member of the DAV. The devoted brother of Ann T. Queally of Milton, Mr. McGowan is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Philip V. and James McGowan, Isabel Gray, Mary Mercer and Margaret Higgins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Monday at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D.
