SUNAPEE - Francis H. Hoar, 89, of Hilltop Drive, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his home. He was born June 12, 1922 in Boston, the son of Francis H. and Mary (Van Emden) Hoar.He was a Certified Public Accountant. Frank Hoar was a tax partner in the Boston Office of KPMG, an International Accounting Firm. He graduated from Somerville High School in 1940 and from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in 1942. During his service in the U.S. Army he attended Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., under the Army Specialist Training Program. He served in WWII in the European Theatre of Operations with the 291st Field Artillery Observations Battalion and was awarded three Battle Stars.He was predeceased by his wife, Rita M. (Frazer) Hoar.Members of his surviving family include four sons and spouses, Michael Hoar and Ann Winter of Enfield, Richard and Jackie Hoar of Redlands, Calif., Gerard and Marty Hoar of New London, and Stephen and Liz Hoar of Andover, Mass. and Sunapee; his daughter and her partner, Jean M. Mayo and Gerry Dea of Londonderry; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Alice M. Harrison of Winthrop, Mass., and many nieces and nephews.A memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim's Parish, Sunapee, with The Rev.
