FRANCIS (FRANK) CHARLES BARRILL, CD May 26, 1930 - January 29, 2010 Passed away peacefully at Providence Care in Kingston, Ontario, age 79, on January 29, 2010. Survived by wife Yvonne (nee Ross) of 51 years and children Barbara Bonenfant (Don) of North Bay, Donald (Lori) of Ottawa, Brian of London, Cheryl Saunders (Ross) of Ottawa, Karen (Jeff) of Toronto and grandchildren Joshua Desharnais of Timmins, Ryan Desharnais of North Bay (late beloved wife Jennifer Lynn Richmond), Stephanie and Courtney Barrill of Ottawa, James, Shelby and William Saunders of Ottawa. Born May 26, 1930 as Murray Chisholm in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Later adopted by the late Alfred Charles Barrill and Mary Tella (nee Anderson). Grew up in Devlin, Ontario until the age of 15. The next 12 years he spent working for the CN/CP Railways as Brakeman and Assistant Engineer, also as a Truck Driver in logging camps in Northern Ontario. Frank joined the Canadian Army, Provost Corps, on April 18, 1957 as Military Police and retired in 1980 in Kingston. He served in CFB Shillo, Camp Ipperwash, Fort York 1 RCR Soest, Germany, CFB Chilliwack, Camp Borden and finally CFB Kingston. He received the following decorations: NATO Service Medal, Canadian Peacekeepers Service Medal, United Nations Cyprus Medal, United Nations Emergency Force Middle East Service Medal, Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration. Cremation has taken place. A military graveside service will be held at a later date in Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation Providence Care, Inpatient Geriatric Program - Ward 24, 752 King Street West, Postal Bag 603, Kingston, Ontario K7L 4X3.
