Holbrook Attorney Francis A. Howard, died at age 85 at his home surrounded by his family August 26, 2008. Beloved husband of Barbara (Locke) Washek Howard and the late Marguerite (Ryan) Howard. Loving father of Frank Howard of Brockton, Charles Howard of W. Bridgewater, Robert Howard of Raynham, Marian Howard, John Howard, AnnMarie Fredericks and Judithe Coughlin all of Holbrook. Devoted brother of Leo Howard of Ft. Lauderdale, Thomas Howard of Illinois, and the late Paul Howard and Margaret Genovici. Dear grandfather of Jason and Amanda Howard, Merideth and Brett Fredericks, Paul and Kristyn Howard, Ryan and Michael Coughlin, Kristopher Howard, Kari Rodgers, Alessandra, Gabrielle and Nathaniel Thompson, Aimee Gauss, Allyson Hyland, Shaun and Kelly Hogan. Dear great-grandfather of Kiley Hogan. Step-father of Paul Washek of Bourne, Diane Washek and John Washek of Marblehead, Barbara Hogan and Lauri Howard of Brockton. He was a WWII veteran and a graduate of Boston University Law School. He worked in Corrections and served as Warden of the Rhode Island ACI. He went on to teach criminology at Northeastern University and Salve Regina College. He was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Town of Holbrook for 35 years, and was a member of the Holbrook K of C. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St.,(Rte. 37) Holbrook until 8:00 a.m. Friday followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial in Mt.
