Frances Teresa Mitchell 1932-2014 At the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on October 27, 2014, Mrs. Frances Teresa (McGee) Mitchell, wife of the late Murchie Vance Mitchell, formerly of Back Bay NB. Born at Digdeguash, N.B. on May 3, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Wilson) McGee. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Frances is survived by one daughter: Carol Ann Hatt (Mathias Roy) of Back Bay, N.B.; one grandson: Eddie (Joanna) Hatt of Ottawa, ON; one great-grandson: Shea Hatt of Ottawa, ON; one sister: Marion (Paul) Libby of St. Stephen, N.B.; three brothers: Maurice McGee of St. Stephen, N.B., Jerry (Donalda) McGee of Back Bay, N.B. and Daniel McGee of Campbell River, B.C.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Charlene and by a son-in-law, Eddie Hatt Sr. Prior to retirement, Frances worked for Connors Bros. in Back Bay where she was employed as a packer for many years and often said "Hard work will never hurt nobody." Frances loved to cook and especially at Christmas time made pies and fruitcakes which everyone looked forward to. She was an animal lover and loved her cats like children and would not go to bed until all her cats were safe. Frances saw the good in everybody and said "everyone has a heart" and was always willing to help those in need. She was a member of the Back Bay Church of Christ where she loved to attend and go to bible study. In her spare time, she loved to travel with Carol Ann to Ottawa to visit her grandson and family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. There will be no visitation. The service will be held from the Back Bay Church of Christ, Back Bay NB on Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. Conrad Cline officiating followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Frances' memory, donations to the Charlotte County SPCA would be greatly appreciated by the family. www.stgeorgefh.ca
