Frances Rhea Carter TRENTON - Frances Rhea Carter, 96, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Pavilions at Forrestal, Princeton, NJ. Born in Bethlehem, PA, she resided in Trenton for 86 years. After graduating from Trenton Central High School in 1934, she trained to become a comptometer operator. She was a member of the Women's Guild of the Fourth Presbyterian Church and was employed by the transfer inheritance tax department of the State of New Jersey, retiring in 1982 as head bookkeeper. Daughter of the late Florence H. Snyder Newell and Luther T. Snyder; and step-daughter of the late Albert H. Newell; she was predeceased by her brother, Robert T. Snyder Newell; and her sister and brother-in-law, Florence Newell Gatti and Orville C. Gatti. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. and Ryan R. Sorg, of Holmdel, NJ. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 12 noon from the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Rd., Pennington, with the Rev. Ginny Sheay officiating. The interment will follow at the Ewing Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
