MITCHELL Frances M. Mitchell, age 86 of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2008 at the Ludlow Health Care Center in Fairfield. Fran was born November 30, 1922 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Charles T. and Bernadette (Forest) Mitchell and had been a resident of Bridgeport most of her life. Prior to retiring in 1982, Fran was employed by Sears in Bridgeport as a personnel manager for 30 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church in Stratford, a member of Our Lady of Grace Cabaret Players and the Marian Guild OLG. She was also a member of the Tuesday Nite Bridgettes Club and founder and director of the On Stagers Drama Club. Fran is survived by her brother in-law, James B. Farrell Sr. of Bridgeport; one niece, Jennifer Volturno and her husband, Daniel of Stratford; one nephew, James B. Farrell Jr. and his wife, Rosann of Milford; two grandnieces, Stephanie Volturno and Julia Rose Farrell; and two grandnephews, Peter Volturno and Ryan Farrell. Fran was also predeceased by one sister, Dorothy Marie Farrell and one brother, Charles T. Mitchell Jr. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday at 12 noon, December 6th directly at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill La., Stratford. The family will be receiving friends Friday in the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull from 4 to 8 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and aides on the 1st and 4th floors at the Ludlow Health Care Center in Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Fran may be made to Our Lady of Grace Memorial Fund, 497 Second Hill La., Stratford, CT 06614.
