Frances Louise Manross Johnson, born June 25, 1923 in Kane, Pa., died on Oct. 15, 2007 in Crestview, Fla. May she rest in peace. Fran departed this world to join those gone before her and to be with her Heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward, who died in 1999. Also preceded in death by her father and mother, Dana and Alva Manross; her sisters, Loraine Johnson and Margaret Bloomquist Kridler; her sons-in-law, John L. Eck and Roland L. Hillard; and her great granddaughter and great grandson. She is going to be missed by her surviving children, Judith Y. Eck of Crestview, Fla., Sharon L. Hillard of Crestview, Fla., Dennis C.(Boni) Johnson of El Cajon, Calif., Steve L. (Cindy) Johnson of Kane, Pa., and Susan J. Lewis of Columbia, Ky. Granny Franny will also be missed by her surviving 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Frances was a homemaker and she worked for a time as a nurse's aide. She was an accomplished artist in oils, acrylics and water colors. Her body is to be cremated and the remains to be laid to rest in Kane, Pa., alongside her beloved husband. We ask that you plant a tree in her honor and/or donations to Hospice in lieu of sending flowers. Memorial services will be held for her at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview, Fla., on Wednesday Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. and at graveside in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Kane, Pa., on Oct. 20, 2007, at 10 a.m. Ronald McDonald Memorial Funeral Home in Kane, Pa., is in charge of burial arrangements.
