Age 79, of Ottawa, died suddenly but peacefully on July 21, 2002, in Halifax, N.S. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Purcell) Jackson and wife of the late Charles J. Balson. Frankie was fulfilling a childhood desire to see P.E.I. at the time. She is survived by her daughter Gail Cole, Edmonton; her son and daughter-in-law Rick and Judy Balson, Ottawa; her beloved grandchildren, Kim and Heather (Mrs. Frank Riosa), Bonnie and Ted; brother Lloyd Jackson, Elliot Lake, ON and sisters Gwen Denney and Ruth Howsen, Toronto; and seven nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on July 31, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Woodroffe United Church, Ottawa. Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
