Barnes, Frances E. TROY Frances E. Barnes, 87, of Troy passed into eternal rest on Tuesday evening, August 14, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Martin Duffy and the loving wife of Robert F. Barnes who passed away May 15, 2005. They had been married for 60 years. Frances worked at the Watervliet Arsenal during World War II and went back to the Arsenal in the 1970's. She also worked at Seton Day Care Center and was a crossing guard at Monroe and Fourth St. in Troy. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, going to the casinos and cooking for her family especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed taking trips to Grafton, and the family summer vacations on Saratoga lake, but the joy of her life was spending time with her family. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Troy. Frances is survived by her children, Ann (Dan) Honsinger of Troy, Mary Theresa Barnes Agars of Troy, Elizabeth (The late Edward) Seymour of Pittstown, Robert Barnes, Brian (Mary Frances) Barnes and John (Jody) Barnes, all of Troy; also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel (Meg), Paul (Karen) and Tim (Kristina) Honsinger, Bob (Jennifer Swint) Agars, Ed Seymour, Erin (Jason) Degnan, John (Jessica) Barnes, Adam, Kevin and Andrew Barnes; great-grandmother of Emily, Daniel, Reese, Anna and Myles Honsinger, Jack and Brian Degnan, Maximus Barnes. Frances was predeceased by her siblings, Gerarda Duffy, Leo Duffy, Joseph Duffy, Mary Guthier, Edward Duffy and Theresa Coughlin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Frances will be held on Saturday morning at 8:45 from The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third Street, Troy and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Friday from 3 - 7 p.m. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy. Contributions in Frances's memory to either the food pantry of St. Joseph's Church in Troy or The Van Rensselaer Manor Patients Activity fund, Care of 85 Bloomingrove Drive, Troy, N.Y. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to entire staff at Van Rensselaer Manor, the nursing staff at St. Mary's Hospital and the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for the wonderful care given to their mother, Frances.
