FRANCES MARY ANDERSON July 15, 1921 – April 8, 2014Frances Anderson, Indian Head, Sask., passed away at the age of 92 on April 8, 2014. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Anderson in 1987. Predeceased by Carl and Agnes Pearen (parents), brother Lloyd (Joy) Pearen, sister Ruth (Ray) Fay, Stephen Cowan (son-in-law), Michael Cowan (grandson), Joanne Anderson (daughter-in- law). Frances is survived by her sister Mildred (William) Sexsmith, Prince Albert; and her children: Brooklyn Anderson, Indian Head; Cheryl Cowan, Vancouver; Elaine (Bob) Gillespie, Regina; Diana-Lynne (Ben) Holden, Regina; Emerald (Maureen) Anderson, Indian Head; Les Anderson (Alana Baht), Calgary and eighteen grandchildren: Rob (Catherine) Anderson, Debbie (Tim) Harrop, Donna Anderson, Russell (Dianne) Anderson, Dailene (Shannon) Kells, Wendy (Rick) Moore, Susan Cowan (Tom Kim), Geoff (Ashley) Gillespie, Mark (Stephanie) Gilliespie, Steven (Sarah) Gillespie, Jana (Lawrence) Duval, Raedon (Colin) Back, Tanya (Ryan) Olson, Rhea (Myles) Bokinac, Jennifer (Adam) Burwell, Thomas Anderson, Sarah (Andrew) Williams, John Taylor Anderson, nineteen great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Frances was born at Crescent Hill Farm and graduated from Indian Head High School. In 1942 she married Thomas Anderson and they farmed together for over 45 years in the Wide Awake District north of Indian Head. During that time she was very involved in the community, school and church. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbours Club, Eastern Star, 4-H, Horticultural Society, UCW and other areas of the United Church. She loved music and enjoyed many years as a choir member. She adored her family and her grandchildren, totally supporting whatever interest they had. A kind and gentle person, she put others' needs ahead of her own, and was always ready to help a neighbour. The family would like to thank Dr. Zimmerman and the staff at the Golden Prairie Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave her. They would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Indian Head Hospital. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 in St. Andrew's United Church Indian Head, SK, at 2:00 p.m. with Sharon Elliott officiating. Interment in Indian Head Cemetery.
