Anderson-AllenFrances Elizabeth Anderson-Allen, 99, formerly of Pensacola, passed away in Cheyenne, WY on September 29, 2013. She was born in Birmingham, AL on December 9th, 1913 to the late Jesse M. Flinn and Marguerite Holcomb Flinn. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse M. Flinn, Jr.In 1935 she married the late Daniel J. Anderson. She later married John E. Allen of Denver, CO in 1975 where she resided until his passing then moved to Cheyenne, WY.Frances graduated from Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, AL in 1932 and attended Howard College where she was a life member of Chi Omega sorority.She was active in amateur dramatic circles in Birmingham and continued that passion when she moved to Pensacola. In the 1949-50 season at Pensacola Little Theatre she won best female leading performance for her part in "Two Blind Mice". She took flying lessons and learned to fly a small plane when she was in her sixties.She was the executive secretary for the office of the Fiesta of Five Flags in the mid 1950's through the early 1970's. During that same time period she also worked as a secretary at the Pensacola Greyhound Park and for the weather bureau. Frances was a fifty year member of the Eastern Star and volunteered in various charities throughout her life. She loved to travel and was proud of having taken over 30 cruises and seen most of the seven continents.She is survived by her three children, Jan Peterson (Terry Udell) Cheyenne, WY, Dana Anderson (Carol) Cheyenne, WY, and Jesse Anderson (Joanne) Pace, FL. Four grandchildren, Brad, Drew, Brett and Devon, four great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.Cremation has taken place and burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Defuniak Springs, FL on Friday October 18th, 11am. The Clary-Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A short graveside service will be conducted where her son Dana will pipe her home.Express your condolences in our guestbook at pnj.com/obits
