Florence Teresa LeePITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Florence Teresa Lee, 81, a former resident of Bradford Street, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided since June 2002. Mrs. Lee had resided in Pittsfield since 1985, prior to which she had resided in Bennington, Vt.She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had attended schools in New York.Mrs. Lee had worked as a waitress in several restaurants in New York and later in Bennington.During World War II, Mrs. Lee had been a “Rosie the Riverter Girl” at the Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y. in support of North Africa Air Lift.Her husband Robert Stewart Lee died in 1971.Survivors include two sons richard W. Lee of Elkhorn, Neb. and James G. Lee of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by two sons, John P. Lee and Robert T. Lee.The funeral will be held from the Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 10:15 a.m. with the Rev. James C. Dannals, rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Following the service, friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 1 to 2 p.m., when the family will be in attendance.The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery Bennington, Vt.Contributions in memory of Mrs. Lee may be made to one’s favorite charity through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT. 05201
