December 13, 2003 Florence Marie Dalton Hurley, 76, a resident of Syracuse, passed away at her home on Saturday. "Flo" was born in Cortland, NY, to William and Loretta Dalton, who later became proprietors of Henry's Bakery on Syracuse's North Side. She at-tended and graduated from St. Anthony of Padua School and was employed by New York Telephone. She married Robert "Huck" Hurley in 1951, retired and began a family. She resided on Hancock Drive for over 30 years, raising her children and becoming an integral member of Most Holy Rosary Parish. She was a member of the MHR Mothers' Club and Altar Rosary Society and sang in the Resurrection Choir in later years. Mrs. Hurley golfed and bowled in parish-sponsored leagues. Flo enjoyed spending time at Sandy Pond, Lake Ontario, during summers with her circle of dear friends and family. Her kindness and generous nature were apparent to all who met her, and there was always an extra friend at the table or a welcome stray at the door. Flo was lovingly cared for in her last years by her husband Bob. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Robert P. Hurley; sons Michael (Pamm) Hurley of Raleigh, NC, Patrick (Janine) of Manlius and Brian (Laurie) of Syracuse; daughters Mary Beth Glover (John) of Syracuse and Sheila (John) Verrillo of Washington Township, NJ; 18 grandchildren; her sister Agnes (Jim) Davitt of Camillus; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hurley's brother William died this year. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Most Holy Rosary Church. A funeral mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Rosary Church.
