Florence J. Wheeler, 90, Alpena, Mich., and formerly of Bradenton, died April 29, 2005, in Alpena. She was born Sept. 23, 1914, in Detroit and came to Bradenton in 1973 from Rogers City, Mich. She worked for the state of Michigan and retired as the director of Presque Isle County Social Services. She was a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Ronald of Lawton, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great- grandchildren. Services will be Saturday in Michigan. Interment will be in Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto. Bradenton Funeral Home is in charge.
