MacDONALD, Florence Ellen MacDONALD, Florence Ellen - 89, Doctor's Brook, Antigonish Co., passed away peacefully on February 21, 2008, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital, Guysborough. Born in Arisaig, she was the daughter of the late Angus A. and Catherine (MacDonald) MacDonald. Florence married Joe MacDonald in 1941 and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother. Florence was an involved and active member of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, and the Arisaig community in all its activities, whether the Arisaig picnic, or a parish dinner. She spent her life as a homemaker taking care of her extended family. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her sons, Donnie (Beverly), Greg (Paulette), Peter (Janet), Gerard, all of Doctor's Brook; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe, "Captain Joe"; brothers, John, Zeno, and Alex Dan. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in MacIsaac Funeral Home, Antigonish. Liturgy of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Arisaig, Rev. Gerard MacInnis presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please.
