Florence Bernice Cox, 84, of Oliver Springs, passed away Monday July 28, 2014, at Briarcliff Health Care Center, Oak Ridge.She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie Cheeks Gilmore; husbands, Winfred Shoopman and Albert L. Cox; step-daughter, Elessa Hatfield; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.Mrs. Cox is survived by her sons, Charles Kenneth Shoopman and wife Brenda of Clinton, Wimp Shoopman and wife Kathy of Clinton; daughters, Linda Edwards and Sandy Brown and husband Vince, all of Oliver Springs; five grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and step-children, Elaine Melton and husband Steve of Oliver Springs, and Mary Margaret Clowers and husband Butch of Morgan County.A private funeral was July 31 with the Rev. Eddie Neely officiating. Burial was at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
