Mr. Felton Lee McKenzie, 92, of Oakwood died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.Born in Soperton, Ga., Mr. McKenzie had lived in Hall County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Vollie Lee and Mary Owen McKenzie. He was retired from Georgia Power where he worked in the Appliance Service Department. After retiring, Mr. McKenzie kept working in the appliance repair business for himself for a number of years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Janice McKenzie, Oakwood; grandchildren, Terri and Chip Almand, Cumming; Chris and Veronica McKenzie, Huntersville, N.C.; Craig McKenzie, Oakwood; mother of the grandchildren, Carol McKenzie, Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Lauryn Almand, Cumming; Philip McKenzie, Huntersville, N.C.; sister, Dean Morris, Oak Park, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Jewell and Emmett Gillis, Glenwood, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Melba McKenzie, Winnsboro, S.C.; Condle and Mary McKenzie, Hartwell. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.Mr. McKenzie is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Taylor McKenzie; son, Jackie Ray McKenzie; grandson, Todd McKenzie; and brothers, Don McKenzie, J.E. McKenzie.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at the Flat Creek Baptist Church.The Rev. Mike Taylor and the Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate.
