FAYE G. JOHNSON VALPARAISO, IN Faye G. Johnson, age 89, of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013. She was born in Pekin, IN on April 16, 1924. Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert L. Johnson. Her parents, Marcus and Ella (Boling) Criswell had 11 children of whom Lyndell Hawkins of Lafayette, IN, Gale (Carolyn) Criswell of Burnettsville, IN, Boyd (Lin) Criswell of Burnettsville, IN, and Joye Shaffer of Panama City, FL survive. She leaves four children: Rusta A. Ault of Valparaiso, Shae L. (Douglas) Hughes of Omaha, NE, Robin L. (Stephen) Bartholomew of Valparaiso, and Robert L. II (Jeanie) Johnson; plus eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A graduate of Burnettsville High School, Faye worked at various times for Logansport Machine Company, Sears, McGill Manufacturing, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS), and General Telephone. She was an active member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Valparaiso, IN and The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, MA. Faye could be seen daily having lunch with her family at various local restaurants. She loved traveling, gardening, and feeding birds. Faye also enjoyed fireworks and mowing her own lawn, and reveled in everything related to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. As Faye was known to say, she kept "abreast of the times" by connecting on Facebook and via email with family and friends. At Faye's request, there will be no service.
