Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Crestwood Cemetery for Fannie Mary Johnson, 98, of Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014. The Rev. Jeff Lyles will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.Mrs. Johnson was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church of Gadsden. A devoted homemaker, she loved to cook for her family and when needed, for her church family. She especially enjoyed planting flowers and cutting grass on her John Deere tractor. She was a native of Blount County.She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, C.B. Johnson Jr.; parents, Fannie and Clate Copeland; sister, Alberta Copeland Pruitt; and brothers, Hugh Copeland, Rob Copeland and Hobart Copeland.She is survived by her son, Hugh Allen (Ann) Johnson; daughter, Cindy Johnson (Lewis) Stadler; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dee Keener; and brother, Joe Donald (Nancy) Copeland.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 114 N. 11th St., Gadsden, AL 35901.Special thanks to Glenda and Steve Ashley and Staff at Mountain Cove Assisted Living; Alacare Hospice; Dr. John Wilborn; and Pam Moon.Online condolences may be made at www.collier-butler.com.
