Family-Placed Funeral Notice SHEILA D. JOHNSON-BUMGARDNER Died February 13, 2004, after battling ovarian cancer. She was born in Greely, Iowa, and raised in the mid west. She moved from Pennsylvania to the Treasure Coast in 1979. She was a prominent and well respected Realtor for 24 years, spending the last 14 years with RE/MAX of Stuart. She was active in the Realtor Association of Martin County, serving on the Board of Directors for 1995 and 1996. She was President of the WomenÕs Council of Realtors for two terms. She earned three Real Estate designations (ABR, CRS, GRI). She was awarded the RE/MAX Hall of Fame in 2002 and was honored with the Spirit Award for the Florida region. Aside from these awards, her greatest enjoyment in real estate and the community was helping young families. Prior to her illness, Sheila was a very active volunteer in the community for the American Lung Association for three years, the American Red Cross Auctions for two years, and several fundraisers for the WomenÕs Council for Realtors. She loved her family and friends, particularly her time spent vacationing and cruising. Traveling to Sheila was one of her greatest enjoyments and she took every opportunity to make each trip a new adventure. She was of the Catholic faith and her strong belief in the power of prayer helped her through her struggle with her disease. Survivors include her beloved husband of eight years, Duane Bumgardner; daughters, Michele Post and husband Tom of Stuart, FL and Roma Lee Krause of Solon, OH; son, Kevin Titus; step-daughter, Sheri Cappa and husband Jerry; step-son, Michael Bumgardner and wife Tammy; sister, Kathryn Wallace; four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, David E. Titus. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 865 SE Monterey Commons Blvd., Stuart, FL 34996. A mass will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 10 AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach, FL. A gathering will be held from 12-2pm at the AYCOCK FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL in Stuart. Inurnment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens, Stuart, FL.
