Family-Placed Funeral Notice JOSEPH D. PITTS Passed away November 10, 2005. Mr. Pitts is survived by his daughters, Ruth M. Peeples, Patty Pitts, Malisa Lyles and Bettina Godziszewski; sons, John Norman Pitts, Jesse Pitts, Joseph Pitts Jr. (deceased); daughter-in-law, Pam Pitts; sisters, Hazel Zill, Emily Davis; brothers, Leonard Pitts and Daniel Pitts; many grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mr. Pitts served his country 20 years in the Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a prominent realtor and broker. He was very active in community affairs especially in such matters as the Westgate CRA getting streets paved, sidewalks installed, public water and sewer services and his favorite project expanding and improving Westgate Elementary School. These efforts earned him the unofficial title of Mayor of Westgate. There will be a memorial service at Westgate Elementary School Wednesday November 16 at 7PM. The family asks no flowers please. Donations instead to Westgate Elementary School Joseph Pitts Fund.
