Faith Leigh Hicks, 9, of Edgewater, died suddenly Thursday, August 7, 2008 in Birmingham, AL. A celebration of Faith's life will be held 4 PM, Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Chapel, One North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach. Friends may call from 1 PM until service time. Faith was born May 17, 1999 in Daytona Beach. In her short life she had many special gifts. Two of her extraordinary gifts were helping others and kindness to all. Faith was a gifted student at Chisholm Elementary and loved to sing, dance and, like all young girls, playing school. She enjoyed four wheeling and seeking adventure in all she did. Faith had an amazing heart and intuitive sense beyond her years. She will be missed by her devoted mother, Darla Newell (Jen Grisell); doting father, Jamie Hicks, II; two brothers, Logan Vingris and Austin Hicks, all of Edgewater; maternal grandparents, Ken and Denise Newell of New Smyrna Beach; paternal grandmother, Barbara Everson of New Smyrna Beach; paternal grandfather, Frank Psomas of Palmetto, GA; maternal great-grandmothers, Maudrey Newell of DeLand, FL, Evelyn O'Campo of Addison, IL; paternal great-grandmother, Roxann Cram of Port Orange; uncles, Kenneth and Steven Newell; aunts, Melissa and Diana Psomas; and cousins, Corey Newell and Anthony Fonseca.
