Frances Smith Williams, 70, of 28 Eula St., died Aug. 16, 2004, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late William Saxby and Elizabeth Jones Smith. Before her retirement, she was an assistant librarian with Beck Middle School for 25 years. Mrs. Williams was a member of Laurel Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, James R. "Bill" Williams, of the home; two sons, Terry V. Williams, of Taylors, and Steve Williams, of Greenville; two grandchildren, Megan Williams, of Greenville, and Kayla Williams, of Fort Mill; two sisters, Grace Reynolds, of Simpsonville, and Ruth Wood, of Greer; two brothers, Marvin Smith, of Greer, and Willie Smith, of Taylors; and a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Pat Williams. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cecil Cansler; and a brother, Tom Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St., Greenville, S.C.; or to Camp Spearhead, 100 Civitan Camp Road, Cleveland, SC 29635. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted at Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
