Frances Moore Jackson, 85, a resident of Dothan, Ala., passed away at her residence Sunday, July 15, 2007.Visitation will be 9 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, with memorial services at 10 a.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, in Florence, Ala. Interment will follow in Florence City Cemetery, with the Rev. Craig Gavin and the Rev. Andy Keyse officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 2470 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL 36303, or to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main St., Suite 3, Dothan, AL 36301.Frances was born June 21, 1922, in Florence, Ala. She was the daughter of the late Raymond H. Moore and the late Kate Holland Moore.She was a graduate of Coffee High School and attended Florence State Teachers College. A loving wife, mother and friend, Frances followed her husband's military career while raising three boys.Upon Earl's retirement from the U.S. Air Force, she began working with Alabama Life Underwriter's Association until her retirement in 1986, serving as the organization's executive director. She and Earl then returned to Florence to their home on Shoal Creek.She was an active member of the Episcopal Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, alter guild and flower guild member.Frances was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Lt. Col. (retired) Earl E. Jackson Jr.Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Earl E. Jackson III (Antonia), Walterboro, S.C., David Bellamy Jackson (Karen), Dothan, Raymond Moore Jackson (Patricia), Santa Rose Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Earl Edward, Charles Leith, William Douglass, John Austin, Raymond Tyler, Lois Katherine; eight great-grandchildren, Suzanne Mott, Julia Ragan, Edward Chisholm, Fredrick McKinstry, Sadie, Davis Austin, Katherine Florence and Hayes Ernest.
