Our Steel Magnolia, Frances Helen Williams, 92, left her home Aug. 9 to be with God. She was born in Winter Haven March 11, 1918, and moved to Fort Myers at 17 after her mother's death. On May 20, 1940, she married Bud Williams and they enjoyed a joyful life together until his death in 1992. They had had a great time with friends and family at their second home in St. James City until Bud's health began to decline. She found a new life as a widow with her close friends shopping, quilting, going out to eat, going to her church, tending her beautiful yard and flowers and especially the constant love, care and times with her adoring family and friends. She remained very active until Wednesday morning when a brain aneurysm felled her. Her family and friends were a constant at her beside throughout the ordeal until her last, finally peaceful breath just as the clock struck midnight.She was a beautiful woman not only in the physical sense but heart and soul as well. Although we are all suffering deeply with the loss of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friends, we know she is experiencing the joy of her new life with Bud and and those who have gone before her. She is survived by daughters Frances D. Williams and Sandy (Howard) Naylor; granddaughter Leslie Naylor and her son Ryder; grandson Chance (Carolyn) Naylor and their daughters Miranda and Morgan; sister Lillian Dow, nephews Bobby (Sarah) and Billy (Carol) Dow and their children. Services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Faith Assembly of God, 6950 Bayshore Rd., N. Fort Myers. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. She will then be taken to Memorial Gardens for burial. Our heartfelt thanks to her nurses for room 311 at Hope Hospice in N. Fort Myers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Jude, Hope Hospice or the charity of your choice.
