Evelyn Smithof Johnson CityEvelyn Smith, 93, of Johnson City, went to be with her Lord Friday evening, May 27, 2005. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Leo F. Smith, in 1969. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Francis and Marlene Smith, Binghamton, James E. Smith, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Dan Callan, Afton; five grandchildren and spouses, Lori and William Collins, Cindy and Anthony Turner, Michael and June Callan, Donna Callan and friend Keith Vandermark, and Daniel Callan Jr. and friend, Kelley Illsley; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Willard Peaslee, Binghamton; three nieces, Patricia Peaslee, Binghamton, Alberta Piasecki, and Nellie Rhinehart, both of New Jersey; a nephew and his wife, Bob and Barbara Hoyt, Binghamton; and a special thanks to two special friends, Maureen and Lucille Gillette, Johnson City. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City. She was a retired employee of Fowler, Dick & Walker Department Store in Binghamton, with over 25 years of service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Garden House in Binghamton, and Care Givers in Johnson City, for the care given to Evelyn.Funeral services will be held at the J. F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
