Murray, Evelyn ALBANY Evelyn A. Thayer Murray "Pat", 94, passed into eternal life, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Evelyn was born and lived her entire life in the Albany area. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Etta Thayer. She was a homemaker for many years while she raised her eight children who were the light of her life. She also worked for the Home Aide Service of Eastern New York for many years doing what she did bestcaring for people. She retired from the Home Aide Service to care for her husband of 56 years, Peter J. Murray Sr., until his death on August 23, 1994. Evelyn was also predeceased by her beloved daughter, Carol A. Murray Politi (John) on October 22, 2014; five infant children; her sister, Marge Gagnon, and her brother, Edward "Sonny" Thayer. She is survived by her loving children, Peter J. Murray Jr (Elizabeth), Patricia A. Chesley (Dennis), Richard E. Murray (Mayumi), James M. Murray, Michele A. Borst (Frederick), Mary E. Kalisz (Philip) and Teresa J. Miller (Joseph), 30 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Elaine Carter and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn will always be remembered for her endless patience, selflessness, devotion and unconditional love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and a part of us went with her when God called her home. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Evelyn's family would like to thank the staff of McAuley Residence, St. Peter's Hospital and the Hospice Inn for their love and extraordinary care. We would like to thank Fr. John Bradley and the members of the Blessed Sacrament Parish who went to great lengths to make sure Evelyn knew she was still a very important part of her parish. We will be forever grateful for their love and compassion. Funeral services Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 9 a.m., in Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation hours. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery.
