Services for Evelyn Marie Smith, 72, Florence, Ala., will be Monday, June 23, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Glendale Church of Christ, Florence, with Joel Caudle and Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lutts, Tenn., with Shackelford Funeral Directors, of Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Michael Holden, Jesse Willis, Danny Potts, Kenneth Patterson, Henry Eddy, Smitty Smith and honorary pallbearers will be Justin Proctor, Doyle Holt and the farm families in the community. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Monday at Glendale Church of Christ.Mrs. Smith died at ECM Hospital, in Florence, on Friday, June 20, 2008. A native of Colbert County, Ala., Mrs. Smith had worked as a hotel hostess and was a member of the Glendale Church of Christ, in Florence, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mae Gallagher Puckett; daughter, Debra Marie Patterson; son, Gregory Anthony Patterson; brothers, Jack, Fred, and Riley Puckett; sisters, Ethel Bowling, Edna Terry. Survivors include husband, Doyle Smith, Florence, Ala.; sons, Johnny Patterson (Donna), Leighton, Ala., Curtis Smith (Marcie), Brooksfield, Fla., David Smith (Kim), Plant City, Fla., Chris Patterson, Florence, Ala.; brother, Clyde Puckett Jr. (Kathleen), Ford City, Ala.; grandchildren, Justin, Stephanie, Jesse, Britney, Ann Marie, Jimmy, Lil David; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
