EVELYN L.SMITH, 88 WAUCHULA - Evelyn L. Smith, 88, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Florida Hospital in Lake Placid due to heart failure. She was born in Glenville, GA and lived most of her life in Wauchula. She worked as a nurses aide in Wauchula and Avon Park. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wauchula and loved to study the bible. She also loved crocheting and painting. She was preceded in death by her son Jimmie D. Pruitt. She is survived by a son, Joseph C. Pruitt and wife Charlene of Lakeland; two daughters, Sheila Younts Reynolds of Wauchula and Nevelyn Cross and husband Thomas of Bartow; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Gillette of Wauchula. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 11 to 12 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Wauchula. Services will be at 12 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Wauchula Cemetery.
