TUSCALOOSA Evelyn Jean Bolling Smith (Hasan), age 72, of Tuscaloosa, passed away October 6, 2011, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 12 noon Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Seay officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Park with Rollins' Mortuary directing. Viewing will be today beginning at 11 a.m. at the mortuary. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.She was preceded in death by her parents, George Bolling (Johnsey Bolling) and Ruthie Mae Parks (Willie Parks, Sr.); her brothers, Arlington Hughes, Willie Parks Jr., and Ronald Parks; and her sisters, Wanda Ann Davis and Johnsey Bolling Erby. Survivors include her husband, Booker T. Hasan; two sons, Booker T. Smith Jr. (Denise) and Renardo F. Smith; three daughters, Levoria R. Mitchell (Lenny), Collette M. Hardimon (Robert), and Adrianne C. Smith; two stepdaughters, Shirley Byrd (Jonathan) and Joyce Gibson (Eugene); 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Hughes (Carol); eight sisters, Geraldine Williams, Carolyn Buffer (George), Deborah Godwin, Alice Rozell, Linda Sherrar, Erma Peterson (Bobby), Jannette Pruitt (Lenton), and Vicki Henderson (Arthur); and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.Mrs. Smith was a loving wife and nurturing mother to the end. She was a devoted Christian, a staunch community advocate, and well respected by anyone who had the opportunity to meet her. She will be missed by all.
