EVANS, Evelyn Hodo, 60, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009, in Sebring, Fla. She was a certified nursing assistant for over 30 years, she worked 20 years at the Palms of Sebring, she was a member of the Glorious Community Holiness Church of Jesus of the Apostolic Faith Inc. and she was a lifelong resident of Avon Park. She is survived by her companion, Joe Muller of Avon Park; son, John Evans (Yolanda) of Sebring; daughter, Ethel Varnado of Avon Park; sisters, Florence Hodo of Columbus, Ga., and Bartheny Hodo of Avon Park; brothers, Frank James Hodo (Helen) of Avon Park and Jessie Hodo of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; grand-children, Antreon Evans, Jacqueline Evans, Johntajiah Evans and Chareese Varnado; great-grandchildren, Keyonna Evans, Tasmaine Massaline, Ralinze Hunter and Lawrence Spry. A visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Faith Temple Ministries, 36 E. Main St., Avon Park, FL 33825. Funeral services will also take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Faith Temple Ministries, with Pastor Lenavol Blackstock officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Inc., Office of Development, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136.
