Evelyn Doris Clark of Corning, N.Y. formerly of Johnson City Evelyn Doris Clark, 83 years, of 40 West William St., died Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the Corning Hospital. She was born September 14, 1924 in Johnson City, N.Y., the daughter of the late Roy C. and Mary Russell Wiggins. She had attended Johnson City High School. Doris and Romphus "Red" Clark were married in 1945 in Johnson City, N.Y. They relocated to the Corning area in 1985. Romphus predeceased her January 20, 1991. Doris attended the North Baptist Church of Corning, N.Y., and was a past member of Corning/Painted Post Church Women United. She also was an active member of the South Corning and Lindley Senior Citizens Groups. She was loving and devoted to her family. Doris has fought the good fight, finished the race and has kept the faith. Surviving her are her son, Donald (Cathy) Clark and daughter, Mildred Silvernail, all of Binghamton, N.Y.; grandchildren, Christopher Clark, Kelly Clark, Cheryl Silvernail and Jeffery (Karen) Silvernail; three great-grandchildren, Adam, Josiah and Rachel Silvernail; sister, Martha Case, Arizona; special nephew, Bill (Sharon) Clark; and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by granddaughter, Renee Silvernail; and brothers, John, Donald and Ernest Wiggins. Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St., Corning, N.Y., Wednesday, October 17, 2007, from 12-2 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 2 p.m. Committal Prayers and Interment will be held at the family plot in the Presho Cemetery, Presho, N.Y. The family would appreciate memorial donations be given in Doris's name to the Lindley Senior Citizens Center, c/o Fern Harrington, 9601 Tannery Creek Rd., Corning, N.Y. 14830.
