Evelyn Christine RossEvelyn Christine Ross, age 86, died March 10, 2007, at the Hamrick Home. Mrs. Ross was born to C.W. and Nettle McKnight in Florence, S.C. She came to Okeechobee from Live Oak in 1951. She worked as a waitress at Barlow's from 1957 until she retired in 1997. Mrs. Ross was of the Baptist faith and she loved working in the yard.Mrs. Ross is predeceased by her husband, Jack Ross.She is survived by her daughters, Claudia Hick of Brooksville and Jackie Burdettle of Okeechobee; four grandchildren, Cleve Hicks, Marlon Burdette, Kay Cannady, and Sheila Madridale; nine great grandchildren; and, five great- great grandchildren.Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m., on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at the Philadelphia Cemetery in Live Oak.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hamrick Home.
