->WINTHROP -- Evelyn Ann Johnson, 64, of Route 133, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, Gray Birch Drive, Augusta.She was born in Augusta on Dec. 23, 1943, the daughter of George and Marilyn (Carter) House Sr.She graduated from Winthrop High School and entered X-ray technology school at Augusta General Hospital. Upon graduation, she worked at Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, N.H., for three years before returning to Maine and working for Dr. Stanley L. Painter Jr. in Winthrop. She eventually returned to work for Augusta General Hospital (MaineGeneral Medical Center) until her retirement in 2007.On Aug. 12, 1967, she married Stephen Johnson in Winthrop. Her passion in life was reading books. She was a member of the Readfield Grange, Rainbow Club of Winthrop and the American Society of Radiological Technology.She was predeceased by her daughter, Laurie Ann Johnson, and her father, George House Sr.Evelyn is survived by her husband of 41 years, Stephen Johnson of Winthrop; a daughter, Mellissa Marguerite Johnson of Westbrook; four brothers, George E. House Jr. of Crosby, Texas, Charles F. House of Winthrop, John H. House of Belgrade and Stephen M. House, also of Winthrop; two grandchildren, Chi Ann Johnson and Aiden Elizabeth Pike; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.Visiting will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Winthrop United Methodist Church, where a celebration of Evelyn's life will be held at 1 p.m. following the visiting. The Rev.
