Evan "Sonny" McDonald, of Florence, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at ECM Hospital.He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Greenview Funeral Home, with the funeral service in the chapel at noon. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park. The Rev. Phil Cooper will officiate.Sonny worked at Wilson's Food Center in north Florence for approximately 45 years.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Ruby May McDonald, and sister, Jeanette Ray.He is survived by brothers, Charles McDonald (Norma), of Florence, and James McDonald (Marianne), of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; sister, Brenda Wright; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Pallbearers will be Steve McDonald, Jimmy McDonald, Shane McDonald, Bill Ray, Jim Strickland, Forest Chandler, Gary Ray and Carl Ray.Arrangements by Greenview Funeral Home.
